The resurgence of a Republican Movement is about to be launched in the Great Southern Land downunder.
After initial exercise of the 20th Century, a Time frame for an Australian Head of State is now being developed in earnest
Whether this becomes a Political Vote OR a Vote by Public will depend on how this exercise is to be developed, which in itself raises a multitude of QUESTIONS & Agendas, chiefly = "Who Benefits" ??

While Australia is "Technically" a Constitutional Monarchy, the move to become a Republic is gaining great traction among Politicians, Corporations & Globalists.
Therein lies a potential problem.
Will this move be about finally removing the last vestiges of British association OR is it about the Centralization of Power for the benefit of a structured few within a consistently shrinking Globalist world. ??

One thing is for certain at the moment.

Nowhere is there any reference to the idea of SOVEREIGNTY being used as a base determinant.
One must ask WHY this has not been put forward.
The only conclusion of note is -- To do so would allow greater debate & wider public vision
Could that be the reason for omission ??
Afterall, --- with Political Power comes National Control & that may just be a too greater attraction & temptation for those who seek the ultimate chair of influence PLUS those of Foreign station who seek to influence the party faithful

Very interesting, Terry. Isn't power centrally controlled by the elite right now as a monarchy? National sovereignty should be a center of interest IF Australians want to move into a republican form of government. If not, just what is the motivation of this "movement" ? :drinks :gr8:

I found this Youtube video to be helpful in understanding how the Australian Monarchy works, for their government is a constitutional monarchy, a parliamentary democracy and a federation.

I suppose Australians should be asking what does having a Queen do for Australia? Especially, in this new climate of Brexit in which, central power from far away un-elected elites, (EU) is getting the proverbial boot from citizens that want autonomous control of their countries, and self governance to return.

Good luck Terry
With your country's push for a QueenExit!

"Turnbull calls for two-stage national vote on an Australian Republic, with a plebiscite before referendum

"MALCOLM Turnbull has called for a new road map on an Australian Republic with a two-stage national vote that includes a plebiscite first to allow voters to choose whether or not the new President will be elected by a popular vote.

But the Prime Minister has again pledged he would not support a referendum during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II on the grounds it is doomed to fail.

Describing the question as an issue of “national pride’’ he proposed the two-stage process to allow voters to determine the model before Australians voted on a Republic at a second national vote.

The Prime Minister’s plan would add millions to the cost but he predicted it would be the only way to ensure Australians believed they “owned’’ the model"

"What is interesting as at this writing is -;
54% of 7,560 votes are AGAINST the idea of a Republic.

This statement from the current Prime Minister says -;
"I also speak to you as Prime Minister, recognising that the Constitution does not belong to the Parliament, or the judges, it belongs to the people. Only they can amend it"

"While technically true, Political moves "around" the Constitution have successfully been made.
For instance, -; Universities were ceded to the States via the Constitution but a past Prime Minister (Socialist Left Wing) changed the application by allowing Open Fee charging to bring in Foreign students who would pay $150,000 for a Degree.
This allowed Universities to be treated as "Corporations" & thus Taxable entities with a GST (Goods & Services Tax) which is a Federal Mandate.

So much for -;
"Constitution does not belong to the Parliament, or the judges, it belongs to the people. Only they can amend it"

This is about to be launched in OZ over next few Days
The Battle for OZ is about to commence

For Immediate Release -; July 2, 2017

--- Embracing Sovereign Capacity
--- The Journey Begins

When Power decrees Directives
Consequence delivers Remedy

Like all worth while journeys, it starts with a First Step
In this case -; a Statement of Directional Beginning to Address Australian concerns about the actions that cause diminishing culture & the decline of prosperity thru deliberate manipulation by both Public & Private Officials.
Thus given the grievance of manipulated distortion by those entrusted to steer the country in such proficient manner for prosperity sake, the duty of the citizen is to make plain such distortion to their Representatives in a manner consistent with just cause and at a level of determination where appropriate remedy can be instigated and delivered for the benefit of both citizen and country.

It is with humility & respect that, in accordance with such claim, we announce here today, this Second Day of July, 2017, the emergence of the peoples will to declare -; "these distortions must end".

Steps taken to address these concerns must be orchestrated by Government and driven by Australians.
To annunciate these concerns in a clear manner requires a statement of action based upon positions that can highlight the requirements, needs & direction that must be uniformly conceived.
Such Statement is "The BALLARAT Address" on the detriment of cause & the consequence of need.

"The Future is there for all to embrace but if manipulation for the benefit of those other than Australians or the Country as a whole continues, then the realm of prosperity will diminish to the point of non existence.
We here gathered, must in all good conscience declare that -;
here shall mark the start for a New Australian Beginning.

And Now there is this apparent decision
"Last week, Congress launched a bipartisan Friends of Australia Caucus whose 70 members will serve as Australia's "eyes and ears" on US policy and offer visiting Australian leaders a captive audience made up of those who value the US-Australia alliance

"Two senior US senators have formed a "Friends of Australia" caucus in the aftermath of US President Donald Trump's volatile January phone call with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

Mr Trump and Mr Turnbull put on a united front, downplayed the phone call and praised the US-Australian relationship on Thursday in New York when they met face-to-face and attended the 75th anniversary dinner for the Battle of the Coral Sea victory.

News of the January 28 call where the president reportedly "badgered, bragged and abruptly ended" the conversation with the prime minister outraged some US politicians on Capitol Hill

"PLUS this from BLUNT
"WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Roy Blunt (Mo.) and Dick Durbin (Ill.) today announced the founding of the Senate Friends of Australia Caucus, a bipartisan group of senators dedicated to supporting the strong bilateral alliance between the United States and Australia.

“Australia is one of our closest friends, strongest allies, and valued economic partners,” Blunt said. “From the Battle of Hamel in WWI to the global war on terrorism, Australia and the U.S. have fought side by side in every major conflict over the past century. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the caucus to further strengthen the U.S.-Australia relationship and advance security and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region"

Hello Terry! Great to hear from you!

Sovereignty has to be the center of any discussion of a Republic. But don't make much of Blunt and Durbin. Trust 5% of what Blunt says (he is such a RINO) and none of what Durbin says. Seriously. Look elsewhere for legitimacy for the formation of your Republic. Will read your links but I don't expect to read anything that will change my mine. It
